Any trip to the Yucatan and its surrounds inspires magic. On this full-day private tour, it’s hard not to believe in the magic of our natural world with visits to UNESCO-recognized Chichen Itza, the lush cenote of IK-Kil, the otherworldly Rio Lagartos, and the natural pink waters of Las Coloradas.

What you can expect

Our guides are keepers of the history and stories of the mystical Yucatan Peninsula, and this private day tour is specially designed to take you to some of the region’s most unique sights.

You’ll believe the impossible is possible as you stand before the iconic Chichen Itza pyramid of Kukulkan, a feat in human engineering; swim in the ethereal waters of the Ik-Kil cenote; and marvel in the naturally pink waters and mangroves of the biosphere of Rio Lagartos and its Las Coloradas lakes. From the Avatar-like Ik-Kil to the breathtaking hues of pink at Rio Lagartos, you can prove to your friends and family back home that the pictures they’ve seen of these places are not AI-generated!

Your air-conditioned vehicle is reserved for your private group only to ensure a safe and memorable day with lunch included.

Luxury and comfort on your private full-day tour

Throughout your 12-hour day, you can always expect an air-conditioned vehicle waiting for you at each stop. Inside the vehicle, you are welcome to water bottles, soda, and light snacks. We are your private concierge to some of the most incredible sights of not only the Yucatan but all of Mexico.

    • Behold the iconic Chichen Itza
    • Chichen Itza is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. On this approximately 2.5-hour walking tour, expect to hear untold secrets and illuminating facts as you visit the impressive pyramid of Kukulkan, the great ball court of the ancient game of pok-a-tok, and the hieroglyphics inscribed by ancient people predicting and calendaring astronomical events.
    • Throughout your walking tour, there are plenty of places to sit and listen to your guide explain the significance of these places to the ancient Mayan people who lived here. As an example, the Chichen Itza is believed to have been used for various purposes, including as a temple of the warriors for the Mayan civilization.
    • A refreshing cenote swim and lunch
    • After morning of walking and exploring, it’s time for a much-deserved break to cool off and relax with one of the top things to do on a trip to the Riviera Maya: swimming in a cenote! This stop is approximately 1 to 1.5 hours of free time.
    • Arrive at the Ik-Kil cenote, a stunning natural wonder. The cenote is a natural swimming hole that is surrounded by lush jungle vegetation and cascading vines. The crystal-clear water is perfect for swimming and snorkeling, and the natural beauty of the area is truly breathtaking.
    • There are changing rooms and lockers you can use at the cenote. We always recommend bringing a change of clothes for after your cenote swim. During your swim, you can leave your personal belongings in your private car, it is completely safe.
    • Once you’ve dried off after your swim, we head over to lunch on the site of the cenote. Lunch is a typical Mexican buffet lunch consisting of in usually rice, beans, some chicken, pork, and seasonal vegetables and fruit.
    • Wildlife viewing and a boat ride at Rio Lagartos
    • Rio Lagartos is a quaint fishing town situated in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. The town's main attraction is its namesake estuary, which is home to a diverse array of wildlife including flamingos, herons, and pelicans — even crocodiles! On this 1.5-hour visit, you strap on life vests and jump aboard a private boat tour of the area with your expert captain. During your boat ride, cruise through lush mangroves as you learn about the delicate ecosystem here. Up to 6 people can be in one boat at a time, but we will ensure ahead of this visit that everyone in your group is assigned to private boats.
    • Instagram-worthy photos at Mexico’s Pink Lagoon
    • Our last stop of the day is Las Coloradas Natural Park, a 30-minute drive from the Rio Lagartos estuary. This dreamlike landscape is one of the most unique landscapes in all of Mexico with its naturally bubble-gum pink water. Its nickname, Pink Lagoon, is an appropriate one.
    • These stunning pink lakes are caused by high levels of salt and algae in the water. You’ll get a brief introduction of this fishing village’s history and the geology of the area, but this is your time to simply relax and take in the surreal and otherworldly beauty of the pink lakes.
    • End your day with hotel/accommodation drop-off
    • Typically, you can expect to be back to your hotel between 8–9pm, depending on accommodation.
