In the first day you visit Chichen Itza, swim in the cenote Ik Kil and visit the most important city on peninsula, it´s capital, Merida. This colonial city populated by nearly a million people and situated relatively far from touristic zone with all it´s appearance talks to you about the Spanish époque in the history of Mexico. You will see a beautiful Montejo street, where all the colonial houses of the rich conquistadors are placed, visit the main square and cathedral. After making a check in on one of the Merida´s central hotels you have a whole evening to enjoy a real colonial Mexican city.
The second day starts with the breakfast in the hotel and visit of Uxmal archeological site, where at the very entrance two tween – pyramids, the guardians of the city, are welcoming you to pass. In Uxmal you climb the pyramid of Magician which structure is very uncommon for mayan architectural style, visit female monastery, the house of the governor and the temple of the Temple of Turtles. The following stop is cacao plantation where you learn about the history of this delicious drink and will be taught an ancient ritual of it´s preparation and of course, you won´t leave without trying cacao prepared just in a way it was prepared for the imperators. Then, you will visit a little Mexican village built around an ancient mysterious Spanish farmstead, called Yashkopoil. Yashkopoil means “a place of rustling elm-trees” and was called so because of the amount of elm trees growing there. You will take a walk around the farmstead and learn about the it´s history and the lifestyle of it´s former habitants.
